SCHS Student Handbook

Night School

On October 30, 1997 the School Committee passed the following policy regarding students taking evening classes:

  1. Students may take courses in night school only if they are fully scheduled in their day program.
  2. Students may take a course in night school for credit recovery and/or if they have failed that course
during the previous year. Students cannot take a night course if they are currently enrolled in that class during day school.
  3. Generally, students may take one evening course per semester. A student may take a maximum of two evening courses per semester if a student needs the two courses for graduation and has the approval of the principal.
  4. Students who are denied the right to take more than one course at night may appeal to the Superintendent. Principals will document in writing to the Superintendent the reasons for the denial.
