A class of mixed voices (SATB) that meets daily for rehearsal for the full school year. The "Madrigals" sing several performances a year, including a "Great Works" performance in May and graduation. They sing all types of music and will sing several acapella pieces. Many of the Madrigal Singers audition for Western Massachusetts District Chorus. All Madrigal Singers must have had at least a year of singing at Central before they audition for the group. Midway through the year, they will present the "Madrigal Formal" a recital where each singer will prepare and sing a song of his/her choosing.
Membership is by audition only.
Do*Re*Mi*s are a three-part treble choir of women. They will sing many different types of music, sometimes joining with Madrigal Singers. At mid-year, the Do*Re*Mi*s will present their annual recital in which each girl will prepare and sing a song of her own choosing. Singers can audtion for Do*Re*Mi*s after completing a year in another singing class at Central.
